Description

The Giro Axis Goggles combine frameless design, magnetic quick-change lenses, and bold styling into one of Giro's most versatile mid-premium goggles. Each pair ships with two cylindrical VIVID lenses by ZEISS so you arrive ready for any light condition, and the magnetic system makes the switch fast at the lift line. EVAK Vent Technology and anti-fog coating keep the lenses clear all day, and the OTG-friendly frame fits comfortably over most prescription glasses.

FAQs

Q: Does the Axis really come with two lenses included?

A: Yes, every Axis ships with a bright-light VIVID lens and a low-light lens included in the box. That's a real cost saving versus buying a spare lens separately, and means you're ready for any conditions out of the gate.

Q: Is the Axis a good pick for skiers who wear glasses?

A: Yes. The frame has dedicated foam cutouts at the temples for prescription glass arms, and the internal volume comfortably fits most small-to-medium prescription frames underneath.

Goggle Lens Guide

Choosing the Right Lens Tint

Lens tint is measured by VLT % (Visible Light Transmission). Higher VLT = brighter lens = better for low light and night skiing. Lower VLT = darker lens = better for bright sunny days.

VLT 60-90%. Clear or light tint. Best for night skiing, cloudy days, and ski club.

VLT 25-50%. Medium tint. All-purpose, works in most conditions.

VLT 5-20%. Dark or mirrored. Best for bright sun and high-altitude bluebird days.

Spherical vs. Cylindrical Lenses

Spherical lenses curve in two directions - better peripheral vision and less glare. Cylindrical lenses curve in one direction and are typically found on more affordable goggles. Both work well; spherical is an upgrade in clarity.

Helmet Compatibility

Most modern goggles from Smith, Oakley, and Giro are designed to fit seamlessly with helmets from the same brand. Our staff can help you pair them. Shop helmets.
