Description
Description
The Giro Contour RS Goggles deliver flagship-level optics in a smaller frame built for narrower face shapes. EXV+ frame technology pushes the lens edges out for an exceptionally wide peripheral view, and VIVID lens technology by ZEISS sharpens contrast and depth perception in flat or stormy conditions. The magnetic quick-change lens system lets you swap to a clear or low-light lens in seconds, and the triple-layer face foam seals comfortably against smaller faces without pressure points.
Key Features
- Smaller-fit EXV+ frame for narrower face shapes
- VIVID lens technology by ZEISS sharpens contrast and depth perception in variable light
- Magnetic quick-change lens system for fast lens swaps
- Triple-layer face foam with moisture-wicking microfleece
- Anti-fog coating with EVAK venting keeps lenses clear all day
FAQs
Q: How is the Contour RS different from the standard Contour?
A: Same EXV+ frame technology, same VIVID ZEISS lens, same magnetic lens swap system. The RS is built on a smaller frame for narrower face shapes, the standard Contour fits a medium-to-large face. Pick the one that matches your fit; the performance is identical.
Q: Will my prescription glasses fit under the Contour RS?
A: The RS is built on a smaller frame, so prescription glass fit is tighter than the standard Contour. Small-to-medium frames usually work, larger frames may not fit comfortably. If you wear glasses while skiing, the standard Contour is the safer bet.
Q: Is the magnetic lens system secure on rough riding?
A: Yes, the magnets are paired with mechanical latches that lock the lens to the frame. The magnets handle alignment so swaps take seconds, the latches hold the lens through hard riding, tree skiing, and crashes.

Choosing the Right Lens Tint
Lens tint is measured by VLT % (Visible Light Transmission). Higher VLT = brighter lens = better for low light and night skiing. Lower VLT = darker lens = better for bright sunny days.
VLT 60-90%. Clear or light tint. Best for night skiing, cloudy days, and ski club.
VLT 25-50%. Medium tint. All-purpose, works in most conditions.
VLT 5-20%. Dark or mirrored. Best for bright sun and high-altitude bluebird days.
Spherical vs. Cylindrical Lenses
Spherical lenses curve in two directions - better peripheral vision and less glare. Cylindrical lenses curve in one direction and are typically found on more affordable goggles. Both work well; spherical is an upgrade in clarity.
Helmet Compatibility
Most modern goggles from Smith, Oakley, and Giro are designed to fit seamlessly with helmets from the same brand. Our staff can help you pair them. Shop helmets.
