Description
The Helly Hansen K Rider Jacket is a reliable kids ski jacket built around Helly Tech Performance waterproofing and Lifaloft insulation that stays warm even when compressed or slightly damp, making it a practical choice for the unpredictable conditions of a full kids' ski day. Sized for young skiers from toddler through early school age.
Key Features
- Helly Tech Performance waterproof-breathable construction handles wet snow, slush, and prolonged exposure without soaking through during a full resort day.
- Lifaloft insulation maintains its loft and warmth even under compression or when damp, more forgiving than down for active kids who aren't careful about staying dry.
- Primaloft Black Eco 133g fill weight provides serious warmth for cold resort days, built from recycled content as a bluesign-certified fabric.
- YKK Vislon zippers are durable and easy for kids to manage with gloves on at the lift and the lodge.
- Solution-dyed lining holds color well and is produced using less water and energy, built to last through multiple seasons of hard kid use.
Find the K Rider Kids Ski and Snowboard Jacket at Aspen Ski and Board on Polaris Parkway in Northern Columbus, just 2 miles west of Polaris Mall.
Fit Guide & Care
Fit Guide & Care
Fit
Ski and snowboard outerwear is designed to layer over base layers and mid-layers. When sizing, make sure you have enough room to move freely with a mid-layer underneath. Most outerwear runs true to size - check the size chart in the product description. When in doubt, size up for maximum layering room.
Waterproofing & Breathability Ratings
Waterproofing is measured in mm (e.g. 10,000mm - higher is more waterproof). Breathability is measured in g/m² (e.g. 10,000 g/m² - higher is more breathable). For ski club and resort skiing, look for a minimum of 5,000mm waterproofing. Serious all-day riders should aim for 10,000mm+.
Washing Your Outerwear
Always wash with a technical cleaner like Grangers Performance Wash, not regular detergent. Tumble dry on low heat to reactivate the DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish. Re-apply a spray DWR as needed. Shop tech wash.
